UPDATE: We will be having another renovation day at Chiara House this coming Saturday (Feb. 12) at 9am. Meet us there at 490 Maryland St. to help out. Thanks so much!
It’s been quite a weekend here in Winnipeg. Brian McLaren was in town, as were Cheech & Chong. Missions Fest Manitoba was buzzing as well. However, the real action was downtown at Chiara House where our first day of renovations got started. Thanks to ALL you guys (& gal) who came out to help. Here are some shots from the day:

I would have liked to have gone to see Brian McLaren but I found out about it too late and, truly, Missionfest is one of my can’t-miss events. Came looking for you but now I see where you were–in the trenches, too busy doing mission work to go to Missionfest. I hope you got a lot accomplished.
Blessings!
Me too, Debbie. See you around though, I am sure!
Peace,
Jamie
How might I “subscribe” to the Missional blog, to get notice of new posts by email?
Hey Quincy,
At the bottom of the page here you will see an RSS feed. If you have a feedreader, you’ll get it by email.
Peace,
Jamie

Wow, what a big job. Little by little it will happen. I am sure your friend Harry Lehotsky is praying for you.
Any particular reason why you pronounce it chee-ara rather than ki-ara (the Italian way)? Just curious…
Dana
Thanks Dana! As an Italian, I knew it was pronounced as “kiara”, yet oddly, the first small monastic community I found (20 years ago) who took her name pronounced it with the “ch” sound. When I asked, they said it was an uncommon, yet not unheard of use of her name. It stuck. Looking back, I wonder if they are right! LOL!
Peace,
Jamie
