Fair question.  Actually, though, I based that statement on excerpts I read, as well as written &amp; spoken comments by McLaren.  I should say that those differences are significant, but nothing I&#039;d want to severe ties over.

I just have one question: You write, &quot;[McLaren] clearly does present beliefs that run contrary to what many of us hold as sacred.&quot; Since you haven&#039;t read the book, I assume you&#039;re basing this solely on the reviews written by others. And is that enough for you? I&#039;m personally interested in reading it for myself and making my own decision.
