What I did not add to this review was my years of experience working with people in the church who have been crippled by these very dynamics. When I read it, I wondered whether she had read the same book that I did. And then I tried to figure out her point of view with regard to introversion. My own reading of McHugh's book is that it "rang true." I have watched person after person who were misunderstood, sometimes judged, and often marginalized because of their temperament. Making space for each of God's unrepeatable miracles is what the Body of Christ is all about. McHugh has done us all a service of helping us to understand some of our sisters and brothers who can easily fade away or sneak away unnoticed and under-appreciated.
