One of the best things about writing a blog is the opportunity to read some great books before they get out to the general public. Sometimes they are good, but not very memorable. Sometimes (though more rarely these days) they are not worth the time or money. However, there are those very rare occasions where a book will hit home with me in a very deep and real way. One such book has been Adam McHugh’s “Introverts In The Church: Finding Our Place In An Extroverted Culture”.
This summer I did an interview with Adam about the book (worth reading if you missed it), which has become one of my most widely read and referenced posts in several years. Clearly the ideas in the book are connecting with many people, both introverts (who seek to understand themselves and make the most of who God created them to be) and extroverts (who seek to understand the mystery that is their introverted brothers & sisters). Fewer books have earned such a ringing endorsement from me.
Having read the book long before it was available, I forgot that it wasn’t until November that the book was actually released. Again, I cannot more strongly affirm this book. With Christmas, it would make a great gift for others (or yourself). Going into a New Year, it would be a great group study book for any leadership team, Bible study, college & career group, etc. What I am saying is this: Buy it! Buy several, in fact, as you WILL want to give some away. Trust me. It is available from Amazon at:
